Terms of Use
Welcome to CyclingTrend.com. These terms govern your use of the site. By using CyclingTrend, you agree to them — and we’ve kept them in plain language so agreeing to them doesn’t require a law degree.
Who We Are
Cycling Trend is an independent cycling publication dedicated to helping riders make informed decisions through practical guides, honest reviews, and cycling advice.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, please contact us through our Contact Us page.
Using the Site
You’re welcome to read, share links to, and quote brief excerpts of our content with attribution and a link back. You may not: republish our articles in full, scrape or bulk-copy the site’s content (including for training datasets, without written permission), misrepresent our content as your own, use the site for anything unlawful, or attempt to disrupt its operation. That’s the whole list — we’re not trying to trap anyone.
Our Content & Intellectual Property
Everything we publish — articles, reviews, rankings, photographs, graphics, and the CyclingTrend name and logo — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. Third-party trademarks that appear on the site (bike and gear brand names, retailer marks including Amazon’s) belong to their respective owners; their appearance doesn’t imply endorsement of us, or by us beyond what a review says.
The Important Disclaimers
Our content is information, not professional advice. Reviews, guides and rankings reflect our honest opinions and research at the time of publication. They’re not a substitute for professional advice — and in cycling that matters concretely:
- Ride safety is your responsibility. Cycling involves inherent risk. Our guides on skills, maintenance and training are general information; assess your own abilities, equipment and conditions, and when in doubt, consult a professional (a certified mechanic, a qualified coach, a bike fitter, a doctor for anything health-related).
- Maintenance content: if a repair is beyond your confidence or tools — especially anything involving brakes, steering, or carbon components — have a professional do it. A guide can’t inspect your bike.
- Product information changes. Manufacturers revise products, specs, and safety recalls happen. Verify current specifications and any recall status with the manufacturer or retailer before purchasing or relying on a product.
- Prices and availability shown or implied on retailer sites are the retailer’s, change constantly, and are outside our control. The price at the retailer at checkout is the price — not anything we’ve written.
The site is provided “as is.” We work hard on accuracy and correct errors when found (we even ask you to report them), but we can’t warrant that everything is complete, current, or error-free at all times.
Affiliate Relationships
Some links on CyclingTrend are affiliate links, through which we may earn commissions — including as an Amazon Associate. This is explained fully in our affiliate disclosure, which forms part of how the site operates. Purchases you make on retailer sites are transactions between you and the retailer, under their terms.
Third-Party Links & Sites
We link out constantly — to retailers, brands, race organizers, and sources. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link is a reference, not a guarantee.
Your Submissions
If you send us something — a correction, a tip, a comment ⚠ [retain if comments enabled], a photo of your setup — you keep ownership of it, but you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, quote, and publish it in connection with the site (with attribution where reasonable). Don’t send us anything you don’t have the right to share, and don’t post anything unlawful, defamatory, or spammy; we may remove submissions at our discretion.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CyclingTrend and its operators won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content — including decisions made based on reviews and guides, and outcomes of purchases made through links. Where liability can’t be excluded, it’s limited to the minimum the law allows. ⚠ [Australian note for counsel: consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded — the “to the fullest extent permitted by law” framing is deliberate; counsel should confirm the clause’s final form.]
Indemnity
If your misuse of the site (violating these terms or the law) causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover the costs that misuse creates.
Changes to These Terms
When these terms change, this page changes, with an updated effective date. Material changes get flagged prominently. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of ⚠ [Victoria, Australia — confirm with counsel per the operating entity], and disputes belong to the courts there, except where the law of your place of residence grants you non-waivable protections.
